Some of you may know that Elsevier is retiring the popular resource MDConsult as of December 31, 2014, and replacing it with a much more comprehensive tool called Clinical Key. Ministry Health Care made the decision to add Clinical Key to our suite of databases and resources. It is currently available as a free trial until our subscription officially begins January 2015.
Clinical Key can be accessed through the Library Intranet site (aka The Library without Walls), or our A-Z database list. We will be working to add additional links via the EMRs and The Source after our subscription officially starts.
For now, feel free to test-drive Clinical Key during our free trial transition period.
ClinicalKey’s offerings include:
- over 500 journals
- over 1000 textbooks
- “FirstConsult” point-of-care clinical consults (similar to UptoDate)
- Procedures Consult
- Patient Education
- Drug monographs from Clinical Pharmacology
- over 13,000 medical and surgical videos
- millions of images that may be added to presentations
- over 2,000 practice guidelines
